Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (“Standard Chartered Hong Kong”)’s newly opened Tin Shui Wai North Branch has officially started its operations. With its second branch in the district, the Bank aims to
offer high quality banking services that cater to the needs of residents in Tin Shui Wai.
The newly opened Tin Shui Wai North Branch is located in One Sky Mall, which is surrounded by large scale public housing estates. The 1,446-square-feet branch provides comprehensive personal banking services such as account opening, loans and deposits, bank counters, investment and wealth management and ATMs, helping us enhance our service network in the remote districts. In addition, to offer more convenience to clients, a specially designed counter is set up in the branch to facilitate serving the disabled and elderly clients.
In order to understand banking services in remote districts, Norman Chan, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (“HKMA”), visited Tin Shui Wai North today and met with the senior executives of Standard Chartered to understand the business operations of the branch. Norman Chan said: “I am glad to visit the bank branches opened in Tin Sui Wai recently to better understand their work and operations after commencing business. I commend Standard Chartered for responding positively to the HKMA’s call for increasing its branch network coverage to provide basic banking services for the public in remote areas.”
Mary Huen, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Hong Kong, said: “Standard Chartered is committed to providing comprehensive banking services to the community and promoting financial inclusion. We opened our first branch in Tin Shui Wai 25 years ago. With the growing population of Tin Shui Wai North, we also set up a mobile branch two years ago to provide basic banking services in a simple and convenient way. The opening of this full-fledged branch will help further meet the needs of the local community for a range of comprehensive and convenient banking services.
Standard Chartered has been a part of Hong Kong’s social fabric for over 150 years. We will continue to optimise our branch network to offer high quality banking services that cater to the needs of our clients. Our brand promise ‘Here for good’ underpins our service commitments.”
Standard Chartered opened its first Tin Shui Wai branch in Tin Yiu Plaza, which is located in the south of the district, in 1992 and set up a mobile branch to Tin Ching Estate in 2015. As the newly opened Tin Shui Wai North Branch started its operation, Standard Chartered will be able to provide enhanced banking services in the district
with its extensive network.
